C.O. “Yusuf” Mendez is a research process associate with the Applied Research Center at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services. As a research process associate, he ensures that applied dissertations adhere to all format and style requirements as set forth by the APA publication manual and the Fischler style guide.
Mendez received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in social psychology. He is currently a graduate student working on his master’s degree in conflict analysis and resolution at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nova Southeastern University.
Mendez is an Islamic community activist in the South Florida region. He has served as National Researcher for the Community Service Task Force for the Muslim Student Association. Within this role he planned and executed a series of community service projects in the city of Chicago for the annual Continental Conference of 2007. He currently serves as the youth coordinator for the Muslim American Society South Florida Chapter. He has appeared as a guest on Oppenheimer Presenta and numerous other local community outreach programs in efforts to convey the teachings of Islam the general public, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
